| These drawings are the work of one of the greatest artists of our time, MC Escher. He was an artist and mathematician who looked at his artwork with a slightly warped perspective. I look into his art and see a kindred spirit. Someone else who is methodical and daft. Someone who has one foot on each side of the line between brilliance and insanity. | |||||||||

| This picture defines one of my philosophies of life. I feel we define ourselves and make US who we are. Outside forces may influence us but when all is said and done we are who we make ourselves. | |||||||||

| I look at the mirrored ball and it reminds me that we rarely see us as we are. We have a distorted view of ourself. Sometimes we see ourselves as a picture of glorious perfection.
Other times we see a hideous troll. I know I am a Glorious Troll. Part good, part bad, but definitly warped. |

| The piece to the left "Relativity" has no deeper meaning to me than the title.
It shows me that people may have different opinions BUT from their unique viewpoint they are correct. If you look at each figure you can see that their staircase works for them while it is wrong for others. I can see in this picture how the world can function with diverse and sometimes diametrically opposed views. Of course in many of my writings you see that I view myself as a person of contrasting opinions, so this picture tells me that there is a certain harmony in dischord. |

| In "Waterfall" we see something interesting. The water falls from the tower onto the mill wheel and from there through the channels only to arrive at the top of the tower again.
Looking at the channels they appear to flow down but the water arives at the top of the tower again. This reminds me of the endless cycles of life and the need for faith. It reminds me about the glory of wonder. Although MC Escher was just an artist in our world, in the worlds he created he was a supreme being. The water in this picture flows upward because the creator says it does. Sometimes in our lives we wonder why... the answer is faith - because the Creator says so. |
