I have been trying to figure out who the Lyricist is and, to be honest, I find him hard to describe.

Let me begin this way.... What does the Lyricist do??
The Lyricist takes the lyrics to a song and shares his thoughts about them. As you will see, the themes range from serious to humorous. His goal is to invoke thought with his words, trying to teach people to see with a new set of eyes, and to hear the words that will touch their spirit.

So getting back to the original question… Who is the Lyricist??
He is a free thinker, someone who prefers to not see a glass half-full OR half-empty, but, simply, refreshing. He looks beyond the immediate and into the past and future (usually at the same time). He looks at the world from 90 degrees off-center. The Lyricist is a teacher, a student, and the guy in the back row of class making jokes. He has been described as a Lyrical Sage" and as being "Off His Rocker," both of which, from my objective viewpoint, are true. He looks at the world with the innocence of youth while having lived a hundred years.

Sometimes he is Don Quixote tilting at windmills, other times he is Sancho Panza trying to save himself from his own madness. Or maybe he is Sir Galahad searching for the Holy Grail. The Lyricist is a poet, an imagist, who challenges you to join his vision or, better yet, to use his thoughts as a springboard for your own quest.

To say he is complicated is a horrible understatement, yet he is also very simple and straightforward. He is a merging of Flower Power and Ronald Reagan. He believes that a strong Military protects us but that War is a horrid obscenity. Let’s just say he has his father’s compassion and his mother’s drive for perfection, in addition to their intellect. He looks to the past for lessons, but not regrets.

People think that the Lyricist is "Me." But I know that he is the "Me that I strive to be."

You might just say that he is the best of Me, challenging You to find the best of You.
